Oregon Gerontological Association publishes a quarterly newsletter, a member directory which includes interest areas through which members can find experts for problem solving or specific training needs; offers an annual conference and regional training opportunities; and advocates for older adults by informing legislators and OGA members of current issues. OGA is a tax exempt organization under IRS 501 (c)(3), and uses all income for the benefit of members and the public. All services provided are at or near cost, to encourage use or attendance by low income persons and non-profit agencies. OGA is governed by a 18-member Board of Directors which is chosen to represent the diversity of the OGA membership. Officers are volunteers and are also voting members of the Board; there is one paid Board Administrator. Board meetings are held a minimum of four times a year, and there is an annual membership meeting held during the fall.
