Keynote Speaker: Harry “Rick” Moody
Harry R. Moody is currently Director of Academic Affairs for AARP. Dr. Moody is the author of over 100 scholarly articles and book chapters, as well as a number of books including: Abundance of Life: Human Development Policies for an Aging Society (Columbia University Press, 1988); Ethics in an Aging Society (Johns Hopkins University Press, 1992); and Aging: Concepts and Controversies, a gerontology textbook now in its 6th edition.
Harry Moody is known nationally for his work in older adult education and recently stepped down as Chairman of the Board of Elderhostel. He has also been active in the field of biomedical ethics and holds appointment as an Adjunct Associate of the Hastings Center.

Jenny Sasser is currently Chair and Associate Professor in the Department of Human Sciences at Marylhurst University. She joined the faculty as an adjunct member of the Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies program in 1997 and since that time, she has been involved in designing many on-campus and web-based courses and programs for adult learners, including in Gerontology. As an undergraduate Jenny attended Willamette University, graduating Cum Laude in Psychology and Music; her interdisciplinary graduate studies at University of Oregon and Oregon State University focused on the Human Sciences, with specialization areas in adult development and aging, women’s studies, and critical social theory and alternative research methodologies. Jenny's dissertation became part of a book published in 1996 and co-authored with Dr. Janet Lee--Blood Stories: Menarche and the Politics of the Female Body in Contemporary US Society. Over the past fifteen years she has been involved in inquiry in the areas of creativity in later life; older women's embodiment; sexuality and aging; critical Gerontological theory; transformational adult learning practices; and cross-generational collaborative inquiry.
