Shaping the Future of Gerontology: Education, Inquiry, and Practice

2010_moody_harry.jpgHarry R. Moody, PhD, Director of Academic Affairs for
AARP in
Washington, D.C.
Gerontology is a diverse and multi-faceted field of study and practice; it is a field in constant motion. Dr. Moody will reflect on how we think about what we do as participants in the field of gerontology. Do we have a shared understanding of what constitutes gerontological education, inquiry and practice? What can we say about what holds those of us working in the field together; do we – should we – agree and commit to a common a set of principles as “gerontologists”? What responsibility do we have as participants in the field to intentionally shape the future of gerontology?
