LGBTQIA2S+ Older Adults: Understanding and Responding to Their Challenges

It is estimated there are 2.7 million LGBTQIA2S+ adults aged 50 and older in the United States, 1.1 million of whom are 65 and older. By 2030, in just 5 years, there will be an estimated 7 million LGBTQIA2S+ adults 50+. Oregon is home to the second largest percentage of LGBTQIA2S+ adults in the United States, behind only Washington DC. This presentation will provide a view of who they are, where they live and an overview of their unique needs, challenges and experiences, including an update on the new Oregon Bill of Rights in Long-Term Care law so service providers, advocates, and policymakers can consider these factors to reach and meet the needs of these populations.
*Please note that this event will NOT be recorded.

Before LHI, Liz enjoyed a many-year career as a high-tech sector business development executive.
