2025 Legislative Debrief: Programs and Policies Impacting Older Adults and Care Partners

This presentation will discuss the impact and analysis of the 2025 legislative session, federal changes, and the legacy of existing programs for older adults.
 

Presenters:

 

Andrea Meyer is Director of Government Relations for AARP Oregon.  She works to advance AARP’s state legislative agenda and oversee the caregiving portfolio, in addition to working closely with advocacy volunteers.  Prior to joining AARP, Andrea was the Legislative Director with the ACLU of Oregon and then served as Director of Legislative Programs with National ACLU.  Andrea grew up in Oregon and after college returned to Portland where she obtained her J.D. from Lewis & Clark Law School. 

Fred Steele was Governor-appointed in September 2015 to be Oregon's Long-Term Care Ombudsman and Agency Director of the Office of the Long-Term Care Ombudsman. The agency programs include the Long Term Care Ombudsman, the Residential Facilities Ombudsman, and the Oregon Public Guardian. Fred holds a J.D. and a Certificate in Law and Government from Willamette University College of Law, and a Master’s in Public Health (M.P.H.) with a focus on Health Administration and Policy from Portland State University. He has been an active member of the Oregon State Bar since 2008.

This presentation is intended for general interest, especially anyone aging in Oregon and/or providing support to people aging in Oregon.

  • Non-member students/seniors and registrants with limited financial means: $5

OGA is a non-profit organization run by volunteers. Events and donations are our main sources of income to fund our educational and networking programs.

Please note that we offer CEUs only for our annual conference in October, not for our regular events. However, we are happy to issue a Certificate of Attendance upon request for those who attend this webinar for its entire length. To request one, please send us an email after the event.
