Events and Opportunities of Potential Interest 

Below are non-OGA events related to aging and gerontology that may be of interest to OGA members and supporters.

  • Opportunity for Scholarship to Attend Oregon Public Health Association Conference (October 21 - 22)

We are pleased to share an opportunity for free admission to the OPHA Conference in Salem. OGA Board Member Autumn Decker is, in addition to her role on the OGA Board, the co-chair of the brand-new Aging & Public Health Section of the Oregon Public Health Association! This section is dedicated to promoting the health and well-being of individuals as they age by improving their health, functioning, and quality of life and was created to bridge the public health and gerontology fields within an existing public health space. This section will provide opportunities for those working in public health to learn about aging, have access to resources and people working in aging, and inspire the public health workforce to include aging issues and older adults in their programs, policies, and plans. 

With the formation of the section, section leaders would like to offer the opportunity to offer several scholarships to attend this year’s OPHA conference on Oct 21-22, 2026 in Salem Oregon for FREE.   • Opportunity from AGE+ to work on the Multi-Sector Plan for Aging: 

    • Oregon's population is changing, and we need to respond. People from communities and sectors across the state are coming together to work on the Multi-Sector Plan for Aging. As this work ramps up, your input is needed to help make sure things like housing, healthcare, and transportation work for everyone. This plan is about creating a future where all Oregonians feel welcome and supported.
